E-Resources and a world of information

Hello everyone, I hope that you are settling well and getting to grips with the first semester!

We are talking about electronic resources in this post and the huge amount of material that is provided.

If you have, up til now, been more of a book user you may find accessing electronic resources a very different experience. A huge range of electronic resources (e-resources) are available to support you in your studies, research and revision.  It is quite amazing just how much material is available to you at your fingers tips. Apart from the obvious benefits it is worth mentioning the other pluses of electronic resources such as:

  • when you cannot get the books you require
  • off campus access when you are at home and require further information and source material
  • you require primary source material that has been digitally recorded

Do familiarise yourself with the  E-Journals, Electronic Databases & Online Resources available for your course. Give yourself time to do so and  you  will feel prepared when using these resources for your essays and projects. Some third level courses include instruction in E-Resources and their uses in their curriculum. Your librarian will also be able to give you guidance and your library online will name the services provided by them for your use. As you begin to investigate you will find a huge range of material in all formats. Do not delay in getting to know how to use these resources can work for you, it is another world of information that is quite thrilling!
